Friday

On Friday, we got to the Fairplex at about 10:00 so that I could take some pictures of some Fell ponies for my mom.  When we first walked in, we saw Pat careening around in a little golf cart, and he asked if I was going to get my tickets now.  I said yes, and asked if I could get a picture with him.

I got my tickets, and I was famous in the Parelli booth!  Everyone said to me, "oh! you're the little girl from Alaska!"  Roxanne bought the Partnership kit, the demo last night inspired her to start doing PNH with her horses.

We all watched Linda Parelli's seminar on Riding with Fluidity, and it was very good. I learned about how to ride with the horse, so that it is easier for both of us. Both the Parellis are very funny, and they had the biggest audience of all the presenters at the Equine Affaire.

After Linda's seminar, Aunt Kathy and I went to see the stables, we had missed them yesterday.  We scouted out the PNH horses, and I took some pictures (you can see some of them here).  We stayed until about 3:30, and then we left to find Broken Horn Saddlery, the biggest tack shop in America!

They had 350 English saddles, and 350 Western saddles at Broken Horn! It was three stories of tack and horse products. The Mane & Tail shampoo and conditioner that I use for Staunton (and myself :-)) was only $6!!  It costs $11 up in Alaska! I got some of that, and also a breastplate for Staunton.  His withers are flat, and the saddle easily slips off if I get off balanced when riding, so I decided that a breastplate might help.

After the tack shop had to herd us out (the store closed at 6), we headed back to the Fairplex.  We wanted to watch the Foxfield Equestrian Center kids perform.  There were 16 kids, all bareback and bridle-less, doing jumping demonstrations.  It was pretty neat.
